Fact 1 - Diamond is the hardest substance in the world. It is so hard that, in order to cut it, an instrument made only from diamonds must be used.

Fact 2 - The Koh-i-Noor Diamond was said to be the largest diamond in the world.  It was found in India and presently, it is a part of the British Crown Jewels in the Tower of London. It is also said to be the costly diamond to have ever produced.

Fact 3 - In order to produce just one carat of diamond, approximately 250 tons of earth is mined. And, it is extracted under some of the extreme conditions with a temperature of 900 C below the earth.

Fact 4 - Did you know that every corner of the diamond is named differently? And, even that the grinding of the diamonds sometimes even consume up to 2-3 months.

Fact 5 - Diamonds have been loved by many historic figures including Plato, the great philosopher. He wrote about diamonds as living beings, embodying celestial spirits.

Fact 6 - Although diamonds are said to be women’s best friends, it is a fact that, only 1% of diamonds actually get to wear a one carat diamond in their entire life.

Fact 7 - We all know that diamond engagement rings are extremely popular but did you know that it was first presented as an engagement ring by Archduke Maximilian of Austria to Mary of Burgundy in 1477?

Fact 8 - “A Diamond is Forever” is the most famous slogan of all time that changed the entire diamond industry forever.  The ad was first coined by N.W. Ayer & Son, the leading advertising company in the US and it was done for De Beers. Since then, De Beers is one of the prominent names in the industry.

Fact 9 - Apparently, diamonds is just present on the earth. Yes that is right! Astronomers recently discovered a diamond star around 10 billion trillion trillion carats.

Fact 10 - Although United States of America has less than 1% of diamond production in the world, it buys more than 50% of entire diamonds across the world. It is the largest diamond market in the world.
