Today many couples live together, shares all the good and bad things in their lives, supports one another, even have children together and, for some reasons, they decide not to get married. Some people, one the other hand, have this modern outlook that a marriage is a relict. Taking into account the divorce percentage, it may be a good point. Nevertheless, the latter might be strictly connected with our laziness and general, perhaps odd power of conviction, that divorce is nothing unusual and that we can do it too. Nothing more misleading…Marriage is a crown put onto a head of love that brought two people together. Nobody says that marriage is a heaven on Earth, but it could be, it can be a safe place, we may stop at every single day. There is not only one reason to get married, not two, but there are plenty of them.

The most important reason to get married comes from the human nature. Man is a herd creature and as it usually is in herd, animals makes couples. We are alike. We have the natural desire to set up a family with the man or woman we love. Moreover, having children can also be included. Children get us together, for good and for worse, we are a family and this feeling cannot be compared to anything else. Another good reason to get married is simple – love. This chemistry-based feeling is able to take control over our lives and direct it into the long-lasting path of marriage. However, love is like a flower, without appropriate care it fades. But proper care it will survive all the storms the world will throw at it. Solitude is another reason to get married. In general, people don’t like to be alone. We all want someone to wait for us, someone we can go to where we feel bad and depressed or someone we can share our happiness – shortly speaking, a good, true friend, or a soul mate.

A good reason to get married, perhaps a bit down-to-earth, are formal matters like heritage, health information given in hospital or administrative activities. It may seem deprived of romanticism, nevertheless, it it an important issue in everyday life. This reason to get married doesn’t exclude mutual strong feelings, the only thing it may break is the overall opinion a person may hold concerning the aversion to marriage as an institution. Another reason to get married is our health. Scientists prove that married people are less subjected to depression. Very rarely are they also prone to anxiety states. Marriage creates state of security, it makes that people find support, future protection and stabilization.
